ABOUT
ABOUT ME

I've been married to my husband Jay for 23 years, together we have 5 uniquely gifted children! My artwork flows into every area of my life. I enjoy theatre, singing in choir, sewing, quilting, writing peotry,  making costumes and puppets, arranging flowers and making bouquets. I relax through long walks in the quiet, reading well written childrens literature with my kids,  fancy gluten free food, lavender scent,  chamomile tea, and on occasion I put sweet bourbon cream in my coffee.  I have a heart for encouraging children as they develop their God given gifts and talents.  I believe all stories are a small taste of a greater narrative that we all belong to. I live in Lexington Kentucky, a city that I Love!

ON MY WAY

Storytelling through costume has been part of my life for a long time, from renaissance fairs to re-enactments and beyond. I have been privileged to come alongside my well respected friend, Costume designer, Susan Dudley Wigglesworth to learn the trade. From tutu construction at the Lexington Ballet to the first off Broadway Premiers of both Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera  where I gained invaluable training and hands on experience from design and stitching, to professional dressing.  I have attended workshops such as Collaborating with the Director  with Award winning director for Newsies,  Jeff Calhoun. I also attended  Set Design Collaboration, with Newsies Set designer Tobin Ost and Costuming for the Theatre lead by Jay Woods, Dresser for Kristin Chenowith  at the annually attended Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, Georgia.  I found my niche in Children’s Theatre while dreaming up costumes for University of Kentucky Opera Theatre’s ACE program founded By Mary Joy Neslon, under the Artistic Direction of Vanessa Becker Weig. I'm excited to announce that much of this year's work will be focused with the newly founded InnOVATION Arts academy for the upcoming season, Stay tuned!!

SEWN

From the moment I catch the first glimpse of vision from the director to the wild rollercoaster of the creating process,  the birth of a theatrical production brings mystery, joy and beauty to my life.  I’m always reminded through the process that I was created for something greater than myself.
